After transmission of the first programmes, the world’s media flocked to Burnley to look at the ‘Bank of Dave’ experiment for themselves. So did the people of Lancashire, bringing with them their loan applications and their money. The tiny bank was a great big success and Dave became an overnight hero for standing up to the system and showing that banking could be so much better.
Hailed by many as the ‘People’s Banker’, Dave received letters pleading for him to open a ‘bank’ in other towns too. But not everyone was a fan of Dave's unofficial little bank and the FSA, which regulated the banking industry, had its own nasty surprise.
Dave now had to wheel out his Battle-Bus once more in order to save his bank and get the people of Britain to help get banking changed – ‘forever!’
